Confused by SSDI Reference in TEGL 12-06 Attachment I

Postby fix » Fri Mar 02, 2018 5:43 pm

Q: In TEGL 12-06 Attachment I, SSDI is mentioned along with regular soc sec and survivors benefits stating that the income is includable except for 25%. I thought SSDI was excludable. Why is SSDI mentioned along with regular Soc Sec as includable income?

A: The TEGL explicitly states that SSDI is excludable. See the second sub-bullet at the top of page 2 of the TEGL, the first bullet under Excluded Income on page 3 of the TEGL, and the parentheses at the end of section I of Attachment I. See also Topic 52 of the Participant Form Guide in the Data Collection Handbook.
